The Valparaiso Industrials’ Association (ASIVA) gave Puerto Ventanas its second Industrial Development award for its project to improve and modernize the copper concentrate shipping system.
This project is developing a new method to transfer and ship copper concentrate, with over 1,000 meters of conveyor belts that are completely sealed and includes the construction of a traveling loader equipment, the latest technology of its kind in the industry. The loader has a nominative capacity of 1,500 tons per hour (TPH) and allows shipping without the need for ships to change course, optimizing the loading process and contributing to decluttering the bay.
This initiative by Puerto Ventanas is an excellent contribution to the port’s modernization, especially in terms of productivity, efficiency and environmental care.
