Puerto Ventanas receives Industrial Development Award

The Industrial Association of Valparaíso, ASIVA, presented Puerto Ventanas with the Industrial Development Award for its “Improvement and Modernization of the Copper Concentrate Shipping System” project
The award was given at a dinner of the business community held every year by ASIVA, attended by nearly 300 local businessmen and regional authorities, such as Mayor Jorge Martinez, who gave a talk entitled “Decentralization: Reality or Fiction?
The project is a new copper concentrate transfer and shipment system with over 1,100 meters of fully sealed conveyor belts and includes the assembly of a state-of-the-art traveling loading equipment in the port industry. The loader is the most modern in its type, and has a nominal capacity of 1,500 tons/hour (TPH), assisting in shipping the need for the vessels to change position, optimizing the loading process and contributing to declutter the bay.
This initiative of Puerto Ventanas, is an excellent contribution to modernization and productivity, efficiency, and care of the environment. The port has turned a project into reality, providing the industry with the best standard of port service required today by world markets. Most of all, it gives a powerful signal of their commitment to sustainable growth, favoring an equal development between the company, employees, and the community.
